Deutsche hires new president for Indonesian securities

Ray Gunara will lead Deutsche Bank''s debt origination and underwriting business in Indonesia.

Deutsche Bank has announced the appointment of Ray Gunara as president director of Deutsche Securities Indonesia (DSI). Gunara, who joins the bank from PT Bahana Securities where he held the post of managing director of investment banking, will report regionally to Rahul Mookerjee and CH Tee, Asian co-heads of debt capital markets and liability risk management.

He will also work closely with Suresh Narang, who recently took up the role of chief country officer for Deutsche in Indonesia.

In his role as president director of DSI, Gunara will lead the bank's debt origination and underwriting business in Indonesia and Mookerjee hopes his local experience will enhance Deutsche's presence in the country.

"In Ray, we have a unique combination of true depth of relationships and product experience within Indonesia," says Mookerjee. "I am confident Ray will extend the leadership role Deutsche currently plays within the debt markets in Indonesia."

In his time at PT Bahana, Gunara was involved in debt, privatization and financial advisory transactions for state-owned, quasi-government entities as well as private companies including PT Telkom, PT Indosat and PT Indofood.
