Sykes goes to ECM
Rod Sykes is to change desks at Morgan Stanley and move to the equity capital markets (ECM) group from the the Asian high yield bond team. Sykes is an executive director at the firm with over seven years experience in the Asian high yield bond market.
He has worked on some of the major transactions to come out of the region including the inaugural Napocor $200 million, seven year bond - which coincidentally is about to mature. He has also done the ROP Brady exchange, the Bangkok Bank exchange offer and many deals for stalwart issuer APP.
Known around Hong Kong for the size of his barbecue, Sykes' move to ECM emphasizes the dearth of transaction volume in the high yield market. His replacement is yet to be announced.
