Salt to shake up Linklaters

High profile partner transfers to Hong Kong to lead the firm''s Asia banking and projects group.

Linklaters has announced that Stuart Salt will relocate to its Hong Kong offices to take charge of its 65-strong banking and projects group in Asia. The newly created role sees Salt transfer from its London practice, commencing formally in Hong Kong on 1 May.

Presently, the London-based partner is Linklaters' global head of energy and a member of the global projects group. Most recently, he has been leading Linklaters' team on the $10 billion financing of Russia's Sakhalin II project - the world's largest project financing to date. He will continue to work on the project from Hong Kong.

Salt rose to the Linklaters' partnership in 1992 after spending six years as a solicitor with the firm. His move following the recent arrivals of partners Trevor Clark and John Maxwell to the Hong Kong office from global banking and global projects respectively.
