New joint managing partner for Allen & Overy, Shook Lin & Bok

Allen & Overy, Shook Lin & Bok has appointed Andrew Trahair as joint managing partner of the joint law venture in Singapore.

Trahair replaces Chris Rushton who returns to London to become managing partner in the global banking group. He will be joint managing partner with Dr Phillip Pillai. Trahair's appointment follows more than 12 months working on project finance and banking transactions out of Singapore including the innovative AES Kelanitissa combined cycle power plant project in Sri Lanka.

His experience covers workouts, restructurings and mergers and acquisitions. He comments, "I'm delighted to be taking up the mantle of managing partner for Singapore, particularly given the success of the JLV."

Prior to joining the JLV in Singapore in March 2001 he spent three years at Australian firm Clayton Utz and previously eight years in London with Allen & Overy, where he was made partner in 1994. Trahair is both UK and Australian qualified.
