McKenzie shifts to Morrison & Foerster

Former managing partner of Perkins Coie Hong Kong hopes to enhance China practice growth.

The China practice of Morrison & Foerster has been buoyed by the arrival of Paul McKenzie to the firm as a lateral partner. McKenzie will initially take up the post in Hong Kong and will relocate to Beijing later in the year, where he was a resident between 1993 and 1997.

He makes the move from Perkins Coie, where he was the managing partner in the firm's Hong Kong offices and a member of its China practice. Within Perkins Coie's China practice, McKenzie advised multinational clients in relation to mergers and acquisitions, corporate restructuring, technology licensing, resource development and other transactions relative to the market.

The fluent Mandarin speaker brings over 12 years of China practice experience to Morrison & Foerster and joins a firm with approximately 35 lawyers and related professionals in its Beijing, Shanghai and Hong Kong offices. He will be joined in the China practice by fellow Perkins Coie alumni Wesley Chiu, who moves with McKenzie as an associate.
