Linklaters hires seven new lawyers in Tokyo

Five internal transfers and two new additions boost firm''s Japanese practice.

International law firm Linklaters has formally announced the recent additions of seven new lawyers to its Tokyo practice to help boost its presence in the capital markets, structured finance and corporate finance sectors.

On the general capital markets side, Linklaters Tokyo has brought in Julie Greenall-Ota, Thomas Madden and Paul de Francisci. Greenall has transferred from the London office and practices in structured finance and derivatives products.

Madden joined the firm from Sidley Austin Brown & Wood's (SAB&W) San Francisco office and specializes in international capital markets and corporate finance, while de Francisci, another transfer from London, has experience in debt and equity markets, repackagings and structured finance.

Rae Parsons and Karen Chow have been hired specifically for the structured finance/securitization practice. Parsons leaves the London office, where she advised on a number of European cross-border securitizations, while Karen Chow, formerly with SAB&W in Hong Kong, has worked on a number of structured finance deals, MTN programs, repackagings and securitizations.

Added to the corporate finance team are Matthew Bland and Stephen Webb. Bland has been with Linklaters London since 1998, and covers mainstream corporate work such as M&A and corporate finance. Webb, meanwhile, has spent the last five years working for the firm in Hong Kong and Shanghai, with experience in corporate finance, M&A and private equity.
