Gerrier gears up for Standard Chartered

Comes from BNP to the Hong Kong-based distribution team.

Standard Chartered will boost its Hong Kong-based distribution team by bringing Gale Gerrier to the fold from BNP Paribas. Gerrier will join Standard Chartered as an assistant director in a move the bank describes as strengthening its global loan distribution capabilities and supporting the continued growth of its syndications business.

In Hong Kong, she will report to Grance Wong, Standard Chartered's head of distribution for Northeast Asia and along with Bruce Fung, Mark Xu and Winnie Wong, she will be expected to assist its primary and secondary loan activities in NE Asia.

Gerrier arrives Standard Chartered after five years at BNP's Paris operations where she was an associate director in the loan syndications and trading team. In this capacity, she predominately focused on the structuring of leveraged buy-out transactions, and non-recourse acquisition finance deals on a pan-European level.

Before this position, Gerrier was a member of the Paribas syndication team in Singapore and in the firm's London-based corporate finance team.

Commenting on the hire, Anton Martin, Standard Chartered's Global Head of Loan Distribution, says, "As we continue to strengthen our capabilities in the global syndications business, strong distribution capabilities are important to ensure in-depth coverage of partner banks and enhance the bank's ability to lead and underwrite transactions for key borrowers. With her syndications product expertise, and experience in loan distribution, Gale will be a key member of our team as we continue to build on that success."
