George Hongchoy leaving JPMorgan

He has the dubious honour of being the last of the old JF corporate finance directors to leave JPMorgan.

George Hongchoy has announced that he is to leave JPMorgan at the end of this year. Hongchoy has been at Jardine Fleming and then JPMorgan for the past 10 years, most recently as a managing director in the investment banking division covering corporate clients in Hong Kong.

According to Hongchoy his immediate plans revolve around the golf course and his family over the coming holidays, although he says he might have plans to return to the market at some stage after Chinese New Year.

In his time at Jardine Fleming and JPMorgan, Hongchoy has worked on some of the higest profile corporate finance transactions to have hit the Hong Kong market. These include the PCCW-HKT merger, the sale of Kwong On Bank to DBS and the Tracker Fund creation and IPO. He leaves Philip Jackson in the general industries group as the only ex-Jardine Fleming investment banker still working for JP Morgan.
