DB global equities team boosted

The bank has announced four key appointments.

In a sign of its commitment to bolstering its global equities team in Asia, Deutsche Bank has appointed Ravi Narain as director of Asia general sales; Jeremy Norris as director of Asian sales trading for global equities; Hubert King as director of Asian sales trading; and Isaac Huang as vice-president of Asian sales trading.

Narain will report directly to Jeffrey Chung, head of Asian general sales. Prior, Narain was a director of Hong Kong / China sales at JPMorgan / Jardine Fleming in Hong Kong, where he sold to institutional clients in Asia, Europe, and US. Before that, he was the head of Hong Kong and China research at Peregrine Brokerage in Hong Kong for seven years, formulating and producing research products on Hong Kong and China.

“Ravi comes to us with a wealth of experience and knowledge on the Hong Kong and China markets. He will be a great addition to our team,” says Chung.

Meanwhile the other three newcomers -- Norris, King, and Huang -- will all report to Daniel Miller, head of sales trading Asia Pacific (ex-Japan).

Norris previously spent 13 years in sales and trading for US-based mutual / hedge fund in Asian equities with ING Barings in Hong Kong. His colleague King, also from ING Barings, was head of sales trading in Taipei. Huang was formerly at Salomon Smith Barney Taipei and has extensive experience in the Taiwan market.

“We are building the most experienced team on the street,” says Miller. “Clients naturally gravitate to sales traders with strong market knowledge and experience.”
